Joey Chestnut faced off against MrBeast and the contestants from his grocery store challenge in his latest video, with MrBeast calling his 16 pounds of baked beans a world record.
The contestants had been trying to eat their way through a grocery store stocked with 4.3 million calories, with a $1 million prize on the line. Chestnut showed up near the end of the video, with new cars up for grabs if they could beat him.
The four contestants and MrBeast had to finish 8 pounds of baked beans before Chestnut got through 16 pounds on his own, which he ate using a ladle. “Sixteen pounds of beans is a world record” MrBeast told them before they started.
The contestants finished first and each won a car, while Chestnut was given a MrBeast-branded belt marking the challenge.
Whether the record is official isn’t clear. The challenge didn’t have a set time limit, and the video doesn’t show Major League Eating or Guinness World Records being involved.
The current Major League Eating record for baked beans belongs to Gideon Oji, who ate 10 pounds in one minute 45 seconds in 2020.
It isn’t Chestnut’s first time beating MrBeast at his own game. The two faced off in 2020, when Chestnut outate MrBeast and six of his friends to finish the world’s largest pizza slice.
The video’s release lands during a busy few weeks for Chestnut, who won the World Poutine Eating Championship in Toronto and set a new pancake eating record in Virginia.
