One Piece Officially Adds A New Conqueror’s Haki User To The Straw Hat Pirates

The Straw Hat Pirates are the protagonist crew of One Piece. Led by Monkey D. Luffy, this crew was officially created in One Piece chapter 6, released on September 1, 1997, in Shonen Jump Issue 40. Since then, the crew has expanded tremendously, and in One Piece chapter 1053, the Straw Hat crew became recognized as one of the Emperor crews on the seas of the New World.

Naturally, a crew as strong as the Straw Hat Pirates has users with Conqueror’s Haki, but up until now, only the captain, Monkey D. Luffy, had access to this Haki type. Now, with the release of One Piece chapter 1194 on September 27, 2026, in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 44, Roronoa Zoro has been officially added as another mastered Conqueror’s Haki user of the Straw Hat Pirates.

One Piece chapter 1194 was officially released on September 27, and it was significant for the character of Roronoa Zoro as well as the overall strength of the Straw Hat Pirates. As far as Zoro goes, his individual goal is to surpass the world’s strongest swordsman, Dracule Mihawk, and take his throne by defeating him in combat. The two first clashed in Baratie, but back then, Zoro proved to be way too weak to even make Mihawk take him seriously. Since then, he has grown tremendously in strength, and by the events of the latest chapter, Zoro is now a user of all three Haki types.

“No matter how many months or years pass by, I shall wait for you atop this throne. So forge ahead with that fierce conviction and try to surpass my sword. Surpass me, Roronoa!” — Dracule Mihawk challenges Zoro, Baratie Arc

In One Piece chapter 1194, Zoro has now finally learned how to fully utilize the Color of the Supreme King and control it in combat. This happened in Zoro’s battle against Saint Sommers, who is one of the Holy Knights, boosted by Nerona Imu using the power of Omen, as well as a weapon of the Creator of the World, known as Gram. In this battle, Zoro largely struggled at first, but it goes without saying that now that he has full control over the Color of the Supreme King, the Holy Knight Sommers is in great trouble.

To fully master the Color of the Supreme King, Zoro needed help from Scopper Gaban, who made him aware of his own disposition to Conqueror’s Haki, as well as Mihawk. Given that Zoro was largely struggling to figure out how to coat his body in this Haki type, he had to think back to his time with Dracule Mihawk at Kuraigana Island. Mihawk’s words pushed Zoro to finally figure out how to coat his body in Conqueror’s Haki. By learning that this Haki is simply his own extension, Zoro was able to figure out a way to put out his willpower and then infuse it into his blades to increase his overall level of strength. Consequently, it gave Zoro a tremendous advantage in the battle against Saint Sommers and pushed the latter onto the back foot. Now, Zoro becomes the second confirmed Conqueror’s Haki user of the Straw Hat Pirates who has full control over this ability.

“Roronoa, things never stay the same forever, but there is one thing that remains unchanged. Conqueror’s Haki is the extension of one’s own self. And it’s so powerful that weak people will crumble, unable to stand against you!” — Dracule Mihawk explains Conqueror’s Haki, One Piece Chapter #1194

Up until now, Monkey D. Luffy, the captain of the Straw Hat Pirates, was the only individual to hold full control over Conqueror’s Haki. Luffy first awakened to Conqueror’s Haki before the 2-year time skip. His first usage of this ability came in the Sabaody Archipelago arc, and from there onwards, this ability continued to develop. In One Piece Chapter 597, Conqueror’s Haki was explained to Luffy by none other than Silvers Rayleigh on August 30, 2010. After the 2-year time skip, Luffy gained full mastery over the basic types of all three Haki, and in One Piece chapter 1010, he learned how to infuse the Color of the Supreme King.

Luffy: You can infuse your attacks with the Color of the Supreme King, can’t you?

Kaido: Only a handful of the strongest can. Not a dead man walking!

— Kaido explains the power of Supreme King Infusion, One Piece Chapter #1010

Unfortunately, up until recently, Luffy was the only member of the Straw Hat Pirates with all three Haki types. Even though Zoro could utilize Conqueror’s Haki since the Wano Country arc, it was all facilitated using Oden’s sword, Enma. Without this blade, Zoro would not have been able to bring out his Conqueror’s Haki, which limited his strength and potential tremendously. Now, with the release of One Piece Chapter 1194, Zoro is officially the second true Conqueror’s Haki user of the Straw Hat Pirates, and by gaining this ability, he has strengthened the crew tremendously.

“The unshakable essence that fuels Conqueror’s Haki is one’s sense of self!” — Dracule Mihawk, One Piece Chapter #1194

While One Piece chapter 1194 gave Zoro full control over Conqueror’s Haki, it did not end his battle against Sommers. One Piece chapter 1195 will see Zoro and Sommers go all out and will most certainly be the chapter that this battle ends in. In other words, we will see a new application of Conqueror’s Haki from Roronoa Zoro, as well as new techniques infused with it. This is certainly an incredibly exciting time to be a fan of Zoro, and we absolutely cannot wait to see what the Straw Hat swordsman delivers next.

Sanji Is On The Way To Mastering Conqueror’s Haki

While Zoro gaining Conqueror’s Haki was certainly an exciting addition to the story, Sanji is on the cusp of achieving this power as well. One Piece chapter 1187, which was officially released on July 6, 2026, in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 32, confirmed to us that Sanji has hidden within him the power of Conqueror’s Haki. He has yet to bring this power out or fully master it, but it is only a matter of time before he does so.

By the end of the Elbaf arc, the Straw Hat Pirates will have three Conqueror’s Haki users, those being the Monster Trio of the crew. We absolutely cannot wait to see Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji utilize this ability going forward, and it is a power that they most certainly deserve to wield at the highest level.
