Minecraft is getting its first new dimension in over 14 years, and Mojang has given fans a first look at it.
Called the Sift, it joins the Overworld, the Nether and the End as the game’s fourth dimension, following the Nether in 2010 and the End in 2011.

Revealed in more detail during Minecraft Live on September 26, the Sift is described in Mojang’s official recap as “beautiful, vibrant, and teeming with souls.”
The trailer showed off a neon mix of pink blocks and blue-green vegetation, alongside a new mob that calls the dimension home.
There’s a catch for anyone hoping to explore it in the main game. The Sift won’t arrive in Minecraft Java and Bedrock until 2027, with no firmer date yet.
It debuts first in Minecraft Dungeons II, the spin-off action RPG launching September 29, where players will explore areas including the Meadow and the Carapace.
Mojang has kept quiet on how the dimension will work in the main game, including how players will reach it.
The same broadcast confirmed Minecraft is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on October 27, alongside a new Ice Caves drop and the world’s first Minecraft rollercoaster and hotel at Chessington in the UK.
Dungeons II was first confirmed at Minecraft Live in March, where Mojang also revealed the Chaos Cubed game drop.
