Lauren Boebert’s office calls affair allegations a ‘politically motivated stunt’ after ethics complaint names three staffers.
Republican Congresswoman from Colorado Lauren Boebert is denying allegations of having multiple affairs with staffers. On September 17, 2026, journalist David Wheeler submitted an official complaint to the House Committee on Ethics accusing Boebert of a string of inappropriate relationships with her staffers over the years. The complaint also alleges a hush-money payment to the tune of $200,000 from the Congresswoman to keep the affair quiet.
Lauren Boebert is categorically denying all of these allegations. A representative described them as a “politically motivated stunt” that is “utterly false.” In a statement to TMZ on September 19, Boebert’s spokesperson said:
“Congresswoman Lauren Boebert rejects these allegations as utterly false, and there is no truth to them whatsoever. This is nothing more than a politically motivated stunt designed to manipulate the ethics process, create headlines, smear her, and generate clickbait.”
Lauren Boebert’s representative also called out Wheeler, the person behind the official complaint, and accused the journalist of recycling old claims and baseless accusations:
“They come from an activist who has long recycled sensational claims, including numerous baseless accusations previously fact-checked as false.”

What Are the Allegations Against Lauren Boebert?
David Wheeler’s official complaint alleges that Lauren Boebert engaged in physical relationships with three of her own staff members over the years. The complaint names the following staff members as the supposed affair partners:
- Clarice Navarro: Former regional director for Boebert’s congressional office.
- Jeffrey Small: Former Chief of Staff for Boebert.
- Raven Finegan: A campaign staffer.
However, that is not all. Wheeler also claims a financial cover-up to keep these relationships secret. The complaint alleges that Boebert authorized $200,000 in hush money payments routed through political action committees (PACs) to conceal the nature of the transactions. Notably, David Wheeler signed the complaint with these accusations under penalty of perjury. The government gives the document the same weight as a signed affidavit. However, the House Committee on Ethics has yet to start a formal review of the complaint.
