Rockstar Games is reportedly furious over the latest wave of GTA 6 leaks, but it has no plans to change the date of the game’s Netflix premiere.
Development on GTA 6 is not yet finished, meaning the footage circulating online may not accurately represent the version players will receive at launch.
According to Bloomberg, the leaks have rattled Rockstar leaders and angered employees who have spent years working on the highly anticipated sequel.
One of the game’s top executives emailed staff to condemn the leak and assure them it would not overshadow their work.
Despite the frustration, Rockstar is reportedly sticking to its original marketing schedule. “Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look” will still premiere on Netflix on August 27 before becoming available through Rockstar’s YouTube channel and website six hours later.
Rockstar GamesRockstar sticks with GTA 6 Netflix reveal
The latest GTA 6 leaks began appearing on August 18, showing Jason playing basketball, driving, fighting NPCs, and stealing vehicles.
The leaks have also revealed numerous gameplay details, which the community has been actively dissecting. Features such as a revamped Wanted system, fuel, improved combat, and item storage have caught the eyes of players.
Images claiming to reveal the entire Leonida map also surfaced alongside a cutscene and footage of the in-game radio.
In one video, the leaker uses a gun to shoot the word ‘Leek’ into a wall, indicating that they have some sort of build of the game. One song on the radio, ‘Sports Car’ by Tate McRae, was only released in 2025, indicating the build is somewhat recent.
The material has been released under the name Cyberleek, an anonymous campaign promoting a Solana memecoin while claiming to protest digital preorders and other practices it considers anti-consumer.
Rockstar Games/DexertoRockstar has not publicly addressed the footage, but Take-Two has been filing copyright complaints in an effort to remove it. As Bloomberg reports, it’s “all hands on deck” to track down Cyberleek and figure out the leak’s origin.
The publisher has also asked a federal court to subpoena Microsoft and Discord for account records that could help identify those responsible. The requested information includes IP addresses, phone numbers, linked accounts, device identifiers and relevant cloud files.
Meanwhile, online investigators believe the crypto wallet connected to Cyberleek could reveal their identity. The token is reportedly being sold through KuCoin, an exchange that requires customers to verify their identity.
GTA 6 remains scheduled to launch for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026.
