Ultra Instinct Moro Was A Threat Unlike Any Other
Debut Arc: Galactic Prisoner Patrol Arc
Right after the events of the Broly arc, Goku and Vegeta found themselves allying with the Galactic Prisoner Patrol in order to find and capture Moro, a legendary villain who was known to absorb the life force of entire planets. The villain saw a few notable transformations throughout the arc, but none were as powerful or terrifying as his Ultra Instinct state.
Upon absorbing the Angel Merus, Moro became the second mortal in the story to achieve Ultra Instinct and the first villain ever shown to do so. As such, his power shoots up to unprecedented levels, finally allowing him to match Goku in overall strength. However, due to the overflowing energy of Ultra Instinct, he loses his mind in the process and becomes a grotesque and powerful beast, though this wasn’t as much a transformation as it was a result of Moro’s overflowing absorbed power.

Orange Piccolo Is The Namekian’s Strongest Form
Debut Arc: Super Hero Arc
For decades, fans of the franchise had been clamoring for Piccolo to rise up to the level of the Saiyan protagonists due to how iconic and beloved of a character he is. This demand was finally met in the Super Hero arc, where a wish from Shenron allowed Piccolo’s strength and potential to burst forth through a powerful new transformation.
In his Orange Piccolo form, his strength was so great that even the Gamma Androids were nothing to him, which is quite impressive since they were the strongest Androids in the story at that point. Even after the awakening of Cell Max, Piccolo was the only one capable of holding him at bay until Beast Gohan arrived. Plus, Toyotarou and Toriyama both considered the 5 main heroes of the series, of which Piccolo is a prominent member, to be relatively equal in terms of overall strength.

The Full Powered Super Saiyan Form Shows Broly’s Potential
Debut Arc: Broly Arc
Throughout the entire Dragon Ball franchise, no Saiyan has ever held the same potential as Broly in Super. Ever since his canon debut, he has differentiated himself from the remaining heroes due to his uncanny potential allowing him to rise to the level of the strongest characters despite not even having any proper combat experience.
This allowed him to surpass Goku and Vegeta’s Super Saiyan Blue forms in his first actual fight, from where his strength has only grown. Although he always lost his mind the closer he got to his limit, Broly has finally awakened the power of his berserker state in a form that he can now control. Though he may be the strongest potentially, he still has a long way to go to master his powers.

The Two-Red Eye Form Is Dangerous And Precise
Debut Arc: Granolah Arc
The Granolah arc introduced a brand-new character into the series who had made a wish through the Dragon Balls to become the universe’s strongest mortal, which came at the price of much of his remaining lifespan. The result was someone who was immensely powerful and managed to defeat Mastered Ultra Instinct Goku with a single hit due to his superior speed.
Eventually, however, Granolah’s battle with Vegeta forced him to grow due to how much stronger the Saiyan was. This resulted in the awakening of Granolah’s second Red Eye, which finally evened the playing field with the Prince and eventually brought Granolah to the point where he realized that the only way to defeat his foe was with a blast that would kill them both.

Ultra Ego Is The Inherent Technique Of The Destroyer Gods
Debut Arc: Granolah Arc
As a relative form to Granolah’s own, Ultra Ego showed the culmination of Vegeta’s journey as a warrior. Upon failing to unlock Ultra Instinct during the Tournament of Power, Vegeta realized his own ultimate transformation which worked with his unique traits rather than copying Goku’s. The result of this was the incredible Ultra Ego.
As the opposite of Ultra Instinct, this form invites damage to the body to make the user stronger rather than avoiding it. Although this is the most offensively potent form of them all, there are a few issues with it that Vegeta needs to work out to be even stronger, since there is a limit to the amount of damage he can take. Still, though, Vegeta’s strength in this form is immense.

True Ultra Instinct Made Goku The Strongest
Debut Arc: Granolah Arc
Ultra Instinct had been an essential part of Goku’s repertoire ever since the end of the Tournament of Power arc, and he used it masterfully against some incredibly tough foes. However, despite using its mastered form, Goku realized in his fight against Gas that he was drastically below the villain in power, forcing him to adapt.
This led to True Ultra Instinct, which essentially used the technique by itself rather than as a form, which is the superior way of doing so according to Whis. Because of this, Goku was able to briefly even become stronger than Gas before the villain’s ultimate power-up left them all in the dust, making Goku the strongest hero in the Granolah arc, though only by a slight margin.
3
Beast Gohan Made Quick Work Of Cell Max
Debut Arc: Super Hero Arc
In the Super Hero arc, the greatest threat was realized with Cell Max; a gigantic and monstrous version of the classic villain whose mindless nature made him a pure engine of destruction. Despite Piccolo undergoing an incredible power-up earlier on in the arc, his strength was still insufficient to stop the Android.
Eventually, Gohan unlocked his new and unique Beast Form upon thinking that Piccolo had been killed, which effortlessly destroyed the villain. Although Toyotarou and Akira Toriyama both stated the 5 main heroes to be equal, many fans tend to put Gohan slightly above the rest due to his incredible subsequent performance against Ultra Instinct Goku in their sparring match.

Awakened Gas Took On Three Heroes At Once
Debut Arc: Granolah Arc
Although Granolah was the initial antagonist of the story arc bearing his name, the true villains of the arc turned out to be the Heeters, whose main muscle was Gas. Upon making the same wish as Granolah but at a different point in time, Gas became the strongest mortal in the multiverse who received a further power-up when he controlled his rage to bring forth his Awakened form.
The result was an impossibly powerful villain whose strength and speed were beyond anything the heroes could deal with individually. Although Goku was briefly stronger due to his True Ultra Instinct, the nature of Gas’s wish kept making him stronger by the second, eventually culminating in his withered husk of a form that was taking on Goku, Granolah, and Vegeta all at once.

Black Frieza Is The Strongest Mortal In The Multiverse
Debut Arc: Granolah Arc
Despite the ongoing debates within the fandom about the strongest mortal between Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, etc., the truth of the matter is that Frieza is magnitudes stronger than even the most powerful hero in the setting. In fact, most fans believe his strength in his Black Frieza state to be at the level of the Gods of Destruction.
By getting in 10 years’ worth of training in a Hyperbolic Time Chamber that he found on one of his conquered worlds, Frieza made the most of his unparalleled potential by awakening a form powerful enough to defeat both Goku and Vegeta in a single hit, despite the Saiyans being in their ultimate forms. Because of this, it’s safe to assume that Black Frieza may be the strongest after Beerus himself.
