Twitch has recently appointed ExtraEmily as a new brand ambassador, and some netizens are sharing their unfiltered reactions. It is no secret that the streamer has made plenty of mistakes in the past, and some people are even calling for her to be deplatformed. However, any penalty or punishment Emily has experienced has no lasting impact.

“She could kill someone and the ban wouldn’t even last a week,” X user @westjett1 commented.

The Twitch star is infamous for driving on stream and nearly causing road accidents due to distraction. Despite multiple bans, the streamer always makes it back, and netizens are convinced she will never learn her lesson.

“She is literally bad for the platform, promoting reckless driving with zero consequences. She has this role for no other reason than favoritism and Twitch/Clancy directly just liking her on a personal level. Almost like Hasan and his birthday song. Pathetic,” X user @Keltix0702 replied.

Other users are insinuating that the CEO of Twitch, Dan Clancy, favors the female streamer and grants her more leeway. This drew criticism, especially after the platform banned Asmongold for expressing his opinion.

“Asmongold gets banned for sharing his opinion. While ExtraEmily almost gets someone killed and becomes Twitch’s new Brand Ambassador. As Hasan also telling people to kill capitalist. While also never gets banned. Crazy,” X user @JohnFentonc remarked.

One user took the time to list all the things ExtraEmily did in the past and was unable to process how she came to be called an ambassador.

“So lemme get this straight: -She only paid her parents back for student loan debt after she was shamed for it -She almost killed people driving w her phone -She gets banned the first time then does it again because she feels like it -After a few times of risking people’s lives twitch bans her for a day -Now shes the ambassador??? (There was a guy that called a girl a b**** on stream and lost his account for a whole month),” X user @LionheartModel wrote.

On the other hand, one user saw the announcement from a different point of view. Regardless of the streamer’s previous mistakes, she still has a high viewership. It would be understandable for Twitch, as a streaming platform, to recognize creators for their viewership.

“Not sure why everyone blames twitch. People are clearly still watching her despite what she does….,” X user @misterchonks wrote on their account.

The Twitch Ambassador program was designed to give creators more recognition for their hard work on the platform. In this case, ExtraEmily was selected, even after her mistakes. There is no telling how the selection or decision-making process works behind close doors, and some netizens are convinced she will continue to make even more mistakes now that she is an ambassador.
