A Great Heart Fettered by Slender Chains quest in Genshin Impact will trigger when you find a colossal Snegovik tied by chains. The Snegovik is located in the large ice area between Snezhnograd and Svetloledovka. He’s bound by four chains, which you can destroy after you break their seals. A shadow will help you break these seals, but only after you help them first.

You can see a long line of chains leading to an anchor. But when you try to destroy the chains, nothing will work because the anchor is sealed.
To break the seal, you must complete hidden tasks around the area. The hidden missions are all near the anchor, so you simply need to follow the line and find where the chain ends.
There are four chains to break to free the giant.
Phonograph Shadow Puzzle (Chain #1)
Find a house that has no entryway.
You can find the way in through a basement entrance, located in front of the house. Use a Basic Heat Source Prime Ice Construct to melt the ice that blocks the way.
Inside, you will find a shadow sitting on a chair and hear a Gentle Male Voice instructing what to do. First, get a Temporary Blueprint of the phonograph on the wooden shelf.
- Hint: Place the phonograph beneath the picture frame… Let us dance once last time.
- Solution: Find a painting of a birch tree and place the phonograph underneath.
- Hint: If I do not return from battle… then… put it in my place… just as I once sang for you…
- Solution: Place the phonograph on the big chair across the shadow’s chair.
- Hint: Keep the phonograph beneath the cabinet.
- Solution: Place the Phonograph on the bottom shelf of the cabinet, right under where you got the blueprint from.
The shadow will destroy the ice by the door and open it, then run outside. Follow her.
She unseals the chain nearby; now you can hit it to destroy the first chain.

Head east and get a temporary blueprint of the snowball launcher. Build it nearby so you can launch yourself inside the cave.
You’ll get a picture called In Search of Inspiration. Here’s how to solve the puzzle:
Dismantle the ice blocking the way.
Place the dog next to the box.
Place the bird on top of the lamp.
Sit on the chair.
Follow the shadow to the seal, then break the chain.
Snegurochka Puzzle (Chain #3)
Head north, down the valley, and find another shadow on a roof. Here’s how to solve this puzzle:
Help the shadow pass through the roof by building Launching Platform Prime Ice Construct.
Remove the window.
Remove the two Snegurochka statues.
Use a Grappling Gun Prime Ice Construct to destroy the wall.
Keep following the shadow.
Remove the two Snegurochka statues.
Follow the shadow, then break the chain.
Beast Fight (Chain #4)
Go west, still in the valley, until you meet an enemy.
Beat the beast, then follow the shadow to break the final chain.
How To Solve A Great Heart Fettered by Slender Chains Quest In Genshin Impact
After you break all four chains, the giant will be free, and it will walk away. Paimon will make a remark about how you’ll come across it again, which you will.
Fast-forward time, or play naturally, until you get a notification from the Eye of Graeae about a sighting of a giant figure by the sea.
Head to the shore west of Snezhnograd, and you’ll find the colossal Snegovik there. This starts the Like a Labyrinth Imprisons Her Servants quest.
Help the snow giant until the quest switches to The Soft Song She Sang. Melt the ice and snow around the lamp room using a Basic Heat Source Prime Ice Construct, then watch the ending of the story.
You’ll get the quest-completion reward, a Luxurious Chest, and The Iceberg Sinks, Never to Rise Again achievement.
