“Destiny Got Banned for Less”: Hasan Piker Says Asmongold Should Be Permanently Banned From Twitch

Hasan Piker recently suggested that Twitch should have permanently banned Asmongold instead of issuing a temporary suspension.

On August 9, 2026, Hasan Piker went live on Twitch and addressed Zack “Asmongold’s” controversial suspension from the platform. Asmongold was recently suspended following his comments regarding the Moroccan-Spanish immigrant crisis. His Twitch channel, Zackrawrr, received a 14-day suspension, a decision that has been highly contested by fellow streamers and social media users.

This prompted Zack to post a video on his YouTube channel titled Why I’m Gone, in which he doubled down on his earlier statements. During his livestream, Piker responded to the video and shared his thoughts:

“He’s basically testing the boundaries of Twitch to be like, ‘Listen, what are u gonna do? I’m not apologetic, I don’t care, I said what I said, go ahead, keep me banned if you can….’ I feel like this is also testing the boundaries of YouTube terms of service too.”

Piker went on to discuss Asmongold’s suspension, correlating it to fellow streamer Destiny’s permanent ban in 2022, which has been widely speculated to be due to Destiny’s comments about transgender women competing in sports:

“It does say a lot about how bad things have gotten as far as like corporate culture in general, that this will probably be a slap on the wrist by Twitch cause they’re terrified of disrupting or angering the right-wing masses…. I would say pre-Trump 2.0, this is a perma [permanent ban]. Destiny got banned for less, and he definitely deserved it, so I don’t even know where we’re at now. I feel like this would be a ban on f****** YouTube as well, or at least a demonetization.”

On August 8, 2026, Tesla CEO Elon Musk weighed in on Asmongold’s 14-day Twitch suspension. He reacted to Hasan Piker’s controversial comments about the Great Replacement Theory and questioned Twitch’s supposed double standards. A day later, Piker responded to Musk, explaining the difference between his comments and Asmongold’s:

“Because the great replacement (which im making fun of here) is not real, and asmongold urged people to shoot and kill migrant children, which is very real.”

Piker started his streaming career on March 23, 2018. As one of the most prominent progressive figures on the platform, he has amassed over 3.1 million followers on Twitch.
