There’s Good News For Reacher Fans After Season 4 Releases

Prime Video viewers will not have to wait for Reacher Season 4’s performance to learn whether Jack Reacher will return, as the popular series has already been renewed for Season 5. The early renewal removes the usual post-finale uncertainty ahead of the Reacher Season 4 premiere.

The first season of the Alan Ritchson-starring show originally debuted on Prime Video in early February 2022. Amazon ordered a second season of Reacher mere days later, signaling it was satisfied with the early viewership numbers. Season 2 followed in mid-December 2023, and Season 3 joined the Prime Video library in late February 2025. The upcoming fourth season is scheduled to start airing on August 12.

Reacher Season 5 Is Already Official

And Season 3 Viewership Still Looks Impressive Looking Back

Prime Video officially renewed Reacher for a fifth season back in May 2026. Announced three months before the Season 4 premiere, the early renewal signals continued confidence in the series. Amazon said in March 2025 that Reacher Season 3 drew 54.6 million viewers worldwide in its first 19 days. That made it Prime Video’s most-watched television season since the 65 million viewers who watched Fallout Season 1 during its first two weeks. The second season of Fallout has since surpassed both totals, reaching about 83 million viewers. However, the comparison is not direct because Amazon has since transitioned to a largely weekly release schedule rather than adding all new episodes of its shows at once.

Reacher Season 5 Is Now Filming

Principal Photography May Continue Until Late 2026

Prime Video has not yet committed to a release date for Reacher Season 5. However, its production is already underway, as filming began on July 20, 2026. Just ahead of that date, Ritchson hinted at how long this latest round of principal photography is planned to take. “The last half of my year is going to be all Reacher Season 5,” the star of the show told ScreenRant.

Season 4 will adapt Gone Tomorrow, the 13th novel in Lee Child’s Jack Reacher series. The confirmed story begins when the title character encounters a distraught stranger on a subway and becomes entangled in a deadly conspiracy involving enemies at the highest levels of power. Alan Ritchson returns alongside Sydelle Noel, Chris Marquette, AGNEZ MO, Anggun, Kevin Weisman, Marc Blucas, Kevin Corrigan, and Kathleen Robertson. In one notable casting change, Marquette replaced Jay Baruchel as Jacob Merrick after Baruchel left the project because of a personal matter.

Reacher Season 4 Will End Just as Neagley Spin-Off Show Premieres

Reacher Season 4 will premiere with three episodes on August 12 in more than 240 countries and territories where Prime Video is available. The streaming service will then move to releasing one episode per week, following the same model used for the previous two seasons and ending with the September 16 finale. Season 4 will have eight episodes in total, matching the first three seasons of the popular show.

All eight episodes of Reacher spin-off show Neagley will arrive on the same day as the Season 4 finale. Maria Sten leads the new show, with Ritchson appearing as a guest star. Prime Video’s latest early renewal suggests that Reacher could maintain its roughly 18-month turnaround between seasons.
